SAMBA, June 20: Two national-level wrestlers died and another sustained critical injuries after a motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a truck in Jamoda village on the Samba-Mansar-Udhampur road late Thursday evening.

A police official said the incident occurred around 8:45 PM when the three wrestlers were returning home to Sumb after participating in a wrestling match in Majalta, Udhampur.
Near Jamoda village, their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck, leaving all three seriously injured, he said.

Locals immediately rushed to help and alerted the police, he said.
Accordingly, he said, the injured were shifted to District Hospital Samba, where doctors declared two of them dead on arrival.
The third victim was referred to AIIMS Vijaypur and is undergoing treatment, the police official said.
The deceased have been identified as Reham Ali (32), son of Mohammad Yusuf of Battal, Sumb, and Ghar Singh (38), son of Sai Singh of Chai, Sumb. Their bodies have been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem.
The injured wrestler has been identified as Bodh Raj (34), son of Hans Raj, also a resident of Chai, Sumb.
Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and seized the truck involved in the accident.
The driver reportedly fled the scene, and efforts are on to trace him.
