JAMMU, July 2: Two more accused involved in the IED recovery case were arrested by Jammu Police today.
As per police sources, during further investigation in the case registered under FIR Number 234/2021 under Sections 121 and 122 IPC, 13, 18, 23, 38 and 39 UAPA and 4/5 ESA with Police Station Bahu Fort regarding IED recovery, two more arrests have been made.
On the basis of sustained interrogation of accused Nadeem-ul-Haq, son of Abdul Rehman Rather of Banihal from whose possession IED was recovered earlier due to promptness and diligent response of Jammu Police at Bathindi area, names of two more persons surfaced.
Jammu Police rounded up the two accused identified as Nadeem Ayoub Rather, son of Ayoob Rather of Chak Cholend Herman Shopian and Talib-Ur-Rehman, son of Abdul Rehman of Kaskoot Banihal district Ramban.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed their involvement in the case and disclosed that they were planning criminal conspiracy at Banihal. On the directions of their handlers, they were directed to carryout IED blast at major religious place of Jammu. It was for the same reason that earlier arrested accused namely Nadeem-ul-Haq came from Banihal to Jammu to carryout the IED attack to spread terror and destabilise peaceful atmosphere of the city. During preliminary investigation, it was transpired that IED seems to have been dropped by drone.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
