Two killed, two injured in separate road mishaps

JAMMU, Apr 24: Two persons including a minor boy was killed while two others were injured in two separate road mishaps in outskirts of this winter capital of the State.
The driver of a car was killed on the spot while two of its passengers got serious injuries when an unknown heavy vehicle collided head on with it at Doomi on Akhnoor Bypass road.
According to the reports, the mishap occurred this morning when the deceased and the victims were on their way from Poonch to Jammu in a car bearing registration number JK02AJ-0668. While the driver of the car killed on the spot, the other two passengers of the car received serious injuries.
The passersby informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted all the three (dead and the injured persons) to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after conducting post mortem the dead body of the deceased identified as Chetan Sehgal (39) son of Raj Kumar, a resident of Channi Himmat, was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
The condition of the injured persons identified as Muneesh (32) son of Ram Dutt of Shastri Nagar and Salman Khan (30) son of Iftikar Ali, a resident of Bathindi, was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Kanachak and investigations were underway.
Another mishap occurred this morning at Maneh Morh falling within the limits of police station Jhajjar Kotli, where a truck bearing registration number PB10CF-1791 crushed to death a Bakerwal boy identified as Arif Hussain (10-12) son of Mohd Yousuf, a resident of Chaini (Mansar). After conducting postmortem at Government Hospital Dansal, the body of the deceased boy was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and the truck involved in the mishap seized while the efforts were on to nab the accused truck driver, who managed to flee from the spot.
