JAMMU, June 22: Two persons were killed and one other was injured when a car hit them near Chandian village falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kanachak.
According to a police spokesperson, a car driven by a drunkard hit and injured three persons standing near a canal in Chandian village near Sua No 1, this afternoon. They were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where two of them were declared as brought dead.
The dead have been identified as Nikha (45) son of Ambu Ram and Parkasho Devi (65) wife of Amar Nath, both residents of Malpur, Chandian while the injured has been identified as Kisho Devi (60) wife of Chuni Lal of Malpur.
After registering a case in this regard, Kanachak police has seized the vehicle involved in the accident and arrested its driver.
