Srinagar, Dec 7: Two persons were killed and four others were injured in various road accidents in Valley, police said here.
A police spokesman said an auto load carrier JK05C-1318 driven by Zulfkar Ahmad Naikoo skidded off the road at Choora in Sopore area of Baramulla district, resulting in on-spot death of Mohammad Yasin Dar and injuries to two other persons boarding the vehicle. “Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. After completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
The spokesman said a truck JK05A5493 hit a motorcycle bearing registration number JK015-1735 driven by Mohammad Akram Dar at Zewan in city outskirts here, resulting in on spot death of the motorcyclist. “After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. Police have registered a case in this regard.” he said.
The police spokesman said a Tata mobile JK01M-0438 hit and injured a pedestrian namely Jasim Ashraf at Kulangam in Handwara area of Kupwara district. “The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Handwara for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
A tractor which was without registration number driven by Mohammad Altaf Rather hit and injured a pedestrian namely Varinder Paul Singh at Chandrigam in Tral area of Pulwama district. “The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
