Two injured in road accident

RAMBAN, Dec 25: In a road accident here today two persons were injured on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Banihal Railway Station.
According to Police, the accident took place when a car moving from Jammu to Kashmir Valley was hit from behind by some unidentified vehicle which escaped after the hit.
Eyewitnesses informed that impact of the collision was such that the car to rammed into a wall.
With the help of local residents and cops, the two injured persons travelling in the car were rushed to Sub-District Hospital Banihal. Due to critical condition, one of the injured persons was later on referred to Government Medical College Anantnag for advanced treatment.
Police has identified the critically injured person as Adil Nabi Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, resident of Bijbehara, Anantnag. The other injured person, who sustained minor injuries, was identified as Shahid Shafi, son of Mohammad Shafi, also a resident of Bijbehara, Anantnag.
Some reports claimed that Adil Nabi Sheikh was recently appointed as Public Prosecuting Officer of CBI.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
