RAMBAN, Aug 11: Police here today under the direction and supervision of SSP Ramban arrested two persons from T-Chowk, Banihal along with heroin-like substance.
Cops during routine patrolling and traffic regulation duty at T-Chowk Banihal intercepted two pedestrians coming from Railway Chowk and on noticing Police they attempted to flee but the cops chased and arrested them and they were identified as Umar Jaan, son of Khazar Mohd Mir, resident of Bimna, Srinagar and Arif Iqbal, son of Mohd Iqbal, resident of Shangus Chani, Anantnag.
Upon personal search of the duo, cops found 5.67 gm heroin-like substance (Chitta) from one and 3.95 gm from the other and arrested them.
A case in FIR No. 84/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Banihal in this regard and investigation started.
