Two held with intoxicant capsules

JAMMU, Dec 11: Janipur police arrested two drug peddlers carrying a large number of intoxicant capsules from Buta Nagar area falling within their limits.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon, SP City, SK Chauhan, said that during the intervening night of December 10 and 11, two scooter-borne youth identified as Shera Bharat son of Swarn Lal, a resident of HNo 529, Katcha Talab, Bahu Fort, Jammu and Anil Kumar son of Shiv Dass, a resident of HNo 1574 near Kali Mata Mandir, Subash Nagar, Jammu were arrested by Janipur Police during a naka checking near TRT Quarter, Buta Nagar, Jammu.
The SP said 3030 capsules of Spmprx-Plus and 220 tablets of Nitravet were recovered from the possession of Shera Bharat while 1520 capsules of Spmprx-Plus and 140 tablets of Nitravet were recovered from the possession of Anil Kumar.
“The arrests and recovery were made by a special team led by SHO Janipur, Inspector Ranbir Singh Bahu under the supervision of SDPO City West, Deputy SP Vivek Shekhar Sharma. The scooter bearing registration number JK02W-2290 used by the accused persons, was also seized and a case FIR No 215/2015 under Sections 8/21/22/NDPS Act has been registered in this connection”, the officer disclosed.
He said that further investigation in the case is going on. “However, the whole nexus of drug peddlers is being looked into and more arrests are like to be made”, he added.
The overall operation was coordinated by SSP Jammu, Uttam Chand, SP City North, Shiv Kumar Chauhan and was directly done under the command of DIG JKS Range and IGP Jammu Zone.
