SAMBA, July 3: Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with 10 grams of heroin-like-substance from Vijaypur area here today.
During checking of vehicles at Gudwal road near Rakh Barotian area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur, a Swift Dzire car (JK01AX-3438) was intercepted for checking, a police official said.
On search of the vehicle, he said, 10 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered.
Accordingly, two persons travelling in the vehicle, identified as Irfan Ahmed Haroon of Zenghar Mohalla, Habakadal, Srinagar and Owais Ahmed Rah of Habakadal, Srinagar , were arrested and booked in case FIR number 70/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Vijaypur and further investigation set into motion, he said.
The arrests were made under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
