JAMMU, Aug 3: Two individuals were arrested with heroin-like-substance from Gharota area here today.
During naka checking at Thathi Bridge, Gharota, two individuals moving in suspicious circumstances, attempted to flee on seeing the police party, a police official said.
They were, however, chased by the alert police personnel and apprehended from a distance, he said.
The police official said when the suspects were put to search, 10.93 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, he said, the accused, identified as Sushil Sharma and Vishal Sharma alias Happy, both residents of Jandial Thathi, tehsil Bhalwal, district Jammu, were booked in case FIR Number 77/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gharota and further investigation set into motion to trace the forward and backward linkages in the drug supply chain in the area.
