Two held with heroin-like substance

JAMMU, Mar 10: Miran Sahib Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and recovered heroin-like substance from their possession near Ratian Road.
According to police sources, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Jatinder Singh, under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu and SDPO RS Pura, was conducting naka checking on Ratian Road.
During the checking, two persons coming from the Ratian side towards Chak/Kullian side noticed the police party and attempted to flee, which aroused suspicion. The alert police team immediately intercepted and apprehended them.
During questioning, the accused identified themselves as Rohit Verma, son of Romesh Lal and Monu Verma, son of Bachan Lal, both residents of Krishna Nagar Basti, Marallia, Miran Sahib.
On their personal search, the police recovered 14.71 grams of heroin-like substance (chitta) wrapped in a polythene from their possession.
In this connection, FIR Number 41/2026 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib. The accused have been arrested and the contraband seized.
