UDHAMPUR, Feb 25: Police arrested two persons and recovered 8.08 grams of heroin from their possession during a naka checking at Roun Domail.
A police team from Police Post Roun Domail under Police Station Udhampur intercepted a motorcycle (JK14B-9739) coming from Manwal towards Udhampur at the naka point. The vehicle was being ridden by Sharwan Gupta alias Sharun, son of Parshotam Gupta, a resident of Sattani, along with co-rider Shubham Parsher alias Cobra, son of late Rabinder Sharma, a resident of Roun Domail.
During the search, police recovered 5.80 grams of heroin from Shubham Parsher and 2.28 grams from Sharwan Gupta. Both the accused were arrested on the spot and the contraband was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR Number 57/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
Police said further investigation is in progress to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered narcotics.
