DODA, July 1: Police here today arrested two hardcore drug peddlers from Khellani area.
Cops from Police Station Doda, under the supervision of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta and Dy.SP Hqrs Doda, Ajay Anand, led by SHO Police Station Doda, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed, intercepted a bus bearing registration number JK02BE-9077 at Khellani area while it was coming from Jammu and moving towards Doda.
As the bus stopped, two persons—Vikas Ishfaq, son of Ishfaq Ahmed and Amjad Ali, son of Mubarak Ali, both residents of Sadeeqabad, Dhak Mohalla Doda, alighted and attempted to flee towards Khellani market but the cops chased them and caught them.
During their search, cops recovered approximately 22 grams of chitta (heroin) like substance—10 gram from Vikas Ishfaq and about 12 gram from Amjad Ali. Both were arrested on the spot and an FIR with No. 155/2025 has been registered under sections 8/21/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Doda in this regard and investigation started.
