JAMMU, July 29: Two individuals were arrested with 16 rolls of the banned Chinese thread, locally known as “Gattu”, from Upper Roop Nagar and Paloura areas falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur today.
As per a police official, one Ankush Kumar of Akalpur was arrested from Upper Roop Nagar with 8 rolls of the Chinese thread, and Sachin Bandal of Manyal Brahaman, Sangrampur, was apprehended from Paloura with as many rolls of the banned nylon thread.
“Both individuals have been separately booked under the relevant sections of the BNS registered at Police Station Janipur and arrested by a police party headed by SHO Janipur, Inspector Vikram Sharma and further investigations have started,” he said.
