JAMMU, Sept 13: Police in Jammu’s Bathindi area arrested two persons involved in a case of snatching, kidnapping, and illegal confinement, while also recovering the snatched load carrier.
A police official said on September 10, one Shafiq Ahmed of Baramulla lodged a complaint, stating therein that while driving a load carrier loaded with apples from Kashmir to Jammu, he mistakenly took a wrong road near Wave Mall around 2:30 AM.
He said at that point, two unidentified persons intercepted him, snatched the vehicle keys and forcibly took him to Bermini, Sunjwan.
He said the complainant, however, managed to escape and reported the incident to Police Post Bathindi.
Acting swiftly, the police official said, a case under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and search operation was launched.
During investigation, the accused were identified as Zakir Hussian of Narwal Bala and Rahul Kumar alias Ankush of Narwal Mistri Mohalla, he said, adding that both were arrested and the vehicle was recovered from their possession.
The police official said further investigation in the case is underway.
