Two held for smuggling banned medicinal herb

KISHTWAR, Aug 2: Police and Army today arrested two smugglers and recovered 20 kilograms of medicinal herbs from their possession.
Police spokesman said that on the basis of specific information regarding smuggling of medicinal herb (Naag Shatri), a joint naka of Police and 11 RR was established at Chinal Dandu under the supervision of SHO Police Station Chatroo Inspector Farooq Ahmed.
During checking of Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK17-1620, 20 kilograms of medicinal herbs was recovered from the possession of two persons namely Farooq Ahmed, son of Gh Mohd and Hussain Ahmed, son of Ilam Din, both residents of Pehalgwari.
Both the smugglers were booked under 6/13 Forest Act.
