Two excavators seized for illegal mining in Nowshera

NOWSHERA, Jan 12: In a significant crackdown against illegal mining activities, two heavy machinery units, a JCB and a Poclain, have been seized by the police from Chak Jaral area of Nowshera Tawi. The operation was conducted following reports of unlawful extraction of minerals from the riverbed.
A police team, led by PP Lamberi PSI Sahil Choudhary under the supervision of SHO Nowshera, Inspector Arjun Magotra, swiftly acted on the intelligence and launched a raid in the area. The excavators were found actively involved in illegal mining, posing a threat to the local environment and violating mining regulations.
The police have also intensified patrolling in the region to prevent future illegal mining activities and ensure the preservation of the environment.
