Two drug peddlers nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, Dec 30: Jammu (Rural) Police achieved has arresting two drug peddlers and recovered contraband during a naka checking operation in the Ghrota area.
A police party from Police Station Gharota had established a naka near Thathi Petrol Pump today morning. During checking, two persons riding a motorcycle from the Akhnoor side aroused suspicion and attempted to flee on seeing the police. However, the alert police team chased and apprehended both individuals.
The arrested persons were identified as Asgar Ali alias Billu, son of Yusuf Ali, a resident of Barn, tehsil Bhalwal and Naseem Ali alias Kallu, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Dabar Mehra, tehsil Bhalwal, district Jammu.
During their personal search, police recovered 10 grams of a substance suspected to be heroin (chitta) from their possession.
A case has been registered at Police Station Gharota under FIR Number 114/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress to trace forward and backward linkages and to identify other members of the drug supply network operating in the area.
