UDHAMPUR, Mar 16: In separate cases, Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 16.70 grams of heroin from their possession.
A police team of Police Station Rehambal during naka checking at Tikri, intercepted a suspicious person, who disclosed his identity as Rahul Sharma, son of Ram Lal of Battal Ballian, Udhampur. During his personal search, 10.27 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, the accused was arrested on the spot and FIR No. 50/2026 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
Meanwhile, another drug peddler along with heroin, was apprehended when a police team intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK14K-1756 coming from Ramkot towards Khoon.
The rider, identified as Ajay Singh, son of Om Parkash, resident of Kail, Tehsil Majalta, was carrying 6.43 grams of heroin, which was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, the accused was arrested on the spot and FIR No. 30/2026 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Police Station Majalta.
Further investigation into both the cases is undergoing.
