Two drug peddlers held with heroin

JAMMU, Jan 24: Bishnah Police has arrested two drug peddlers with 15 grams of heroin in its jurisdiction.
The arrests were made in connection with FIR Number 15/2026 registered under Sections 8, 21, 22, 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police intensified surveillance in the area to curb illegal drug trafficking.
During a targeted operation, a police team led by SHO Police Station Bishnah, Inspector Rakesh Jamwal, intercepted an Innova vehicle bearing registration number PBDT-8788. A thorough search of the occupants led to the recovery of approximately 15 grams of heroin (chitta-like substance) along with 20 Pologesic capsules.
The accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Chaman Lal, and Ajay Kumar, son of Sat Pal, both residents of Deoli, Bishnah. The recovered contraband and the vehicle used for transporting the drugs were seized in accordance with legal procedures.
Both accused have been taken into police custody. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the narcotics and to identify forward and backward linkages in the drug supply network.
