Two drug peddlers held with heroin

UDHAMPUR, Oct 31: Cops here today arrested two distributors of intoxicant substances and recovered heroin from them.
Sources informed that cops from Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Purab Singh during a routine Naka checking apprehended one person roaming suspiciously and on his search recovered 3.75 gram heroin.
The accused was arrested and was identified as Nitin Sharma, son of Madan Lal, resident of Ramnagar, at present Housing Colony, Udhampur.
In this connection, a case in FIR with number 379/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
Meanwhile, another drug peddler was arrested by cops with heroin from Tikri during traffic checking when the cops intercepted a car bearing registration number JK14C-3433 coming from Jammu and moving towards Udhampur.
Driver of the car was identified as Varun Sharma, son of Raj Kumar, resident of Ward No. 6, Karan Nagar, Railway Road, Udhampur and during his search, cops recovered 8.85 gram of Heroin and registered a case with FIR number 180/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act in this regard at Police Station Rehambal and started investigation.
