Two drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Aug 9: Bakshi Nagar and Gandhi Nagar Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 207 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, during patrolling a team from Police Station Bakshi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Harjeet Singh intercepted a car.
During checking, police team recovered 200 grams heroin from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Badri Nath, son of late Romesh Chander, a resident of Jain Bazaar District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 140/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma and assisted by Incharge Police Post Digiana SI Tarseem Raj under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma while on naka duty near Santa Da Gurdwara Nanak Nagar intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CS-2750, coming from Preet Nagar towards Khalsa Chowk.
During checking, police team recovered 7 grams heroin, one sharp edged weapon and one digital weighing machine and arrested one person, who was identified as Kamaljeet Singh, son of late Surinder Singh of Nanak Nagar District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 192/2022 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation initiated.
