Two drug peddlers arrested with cannabis

RAMBAN, Aug 8: Sangaldaan Police arrested two drug peddlers with cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Sangaldaan laid a naka and intercepted a tanker bearing registration number JK02CG-5065.
During checking, police team recovered 2 kilograms of cannabis and arrested two persons, who were identified as Riyaz Ahmad, son of Ali Mohammad Naik of Sumbar Harog and Shakir Ahmad, son of Ghulam Nabi of Gund Adalkot Banihal.
During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed that they were illegally transporting the contraband for sale among gullible youth in Sangaldaan and surrounding areas in District Ramban.
A case FIR Number 70/2021 under Section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gool and investigation set into motion.
The arrest has been made by a team from Police Party Sangaldaan led by Inspector Wasim Mehraj under the supervision of SHO Gool Inspector Muneer Ahmed and SDPO Gool Pardeep Kumar.
