UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, Police arrested two drug peddlers in separate cases at Ramnagar.
A police team of PS Ramnagar, during naka checking duty, intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK14F-8194. The During search of the rider, who disclosed his identity as Raahat Amaan, son of Mohd Farooq Malik, resident of Kirmoo, Tehsil Ramnagar, at present Ward No. 06 Ramnagar, 6.21 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, the accused was arrested on the spot and FIR No. 35/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramnagar.
Another accused was apprehended whe he was riding a bike bearing registration No. JK14D-2375. On questioning, the rider disclosed his identity as Saksham Thakur, son of Kewal Singh, resident of Serial Chakal, Tehsil Basantgarh, at present Ward No. 07 Ramnagar. During personal search, 6.32 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 36/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramnagar and further investigation is underway.
