UDHAMPUR, June 18: Police arrested two narcotic smugglers at Ghaordi in Ramnagar and recovered poppy straw as well as marijuana from their possession.
They were identified as Sanjay Kumar and Ajay Kumar, both residents of Kau Nallah, Ramnagar.
A police party of PP Ghordi apprehended the suspects during routine patrolling near Ghordi bridge. Upon frisking, approximately 164 grams of poppy straw was recovered from Sanjay Kumar and 88 grams of poppy straw along with 3.640 grams of marijuana was recovered from Ajay Kumar.
Both the accused failed to give any satisfactory explanation and were arrested on the spot.
In this regards, a case FIR under section 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar.
Meanwhile, reports from Dudu said that a bootlegger was arrested in the area and 10 litres of hooch was recovered from his possession. The accused was identified as Mool Raj of Pachound, tehsil Latti.
