REASI, Mar 23: The 16th State triennial conference of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Jammu and Kashmir started today at Chintamani Trust, Katra.
While inaugurating the 2-day conference, Akhil Bhartiya Sangathan Mantri B Surendarn said that in the present scenario only those unions will survive who apart from fulfilling their own demands in organized sector, also think and work for those working in unorganized sector.
He said BMS is working equally on both fronts and as a result, BMS has become the largest labour organization among the democratic countries of the world and being recognized by Government.
“In this regard, three resolutions were adopted in G-20. The international portability of social security fund for the workers who are working in foreign countries for short span of their life and social security contribution deducted in that country be given back to the workers of their respective countries,” he added.
Surendarn further highlighted that public sectors are going in losses due to the top level managements’ failure and allegation are leveled upon the workers. He said closure of public sector is not a solution which otherwise give employment.
In the meeting, Neelam Sharma (general secretary) presented report for the last three years of BMS J&K. Finance secretary Sachin Bali also presented last three years income and expenses’ report. Sector wise meetings were also held for further expansion of BMS work in J&K in next three years.
