Two-day training on economic offences begins at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Feb 23: A two-day training programme on investigation of economic offences and financial frauds began at the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA) here today.
The course has been organised under the guidance of the Director SKPA to strengthen the investigative skills of police officers in dealing with complex financial crimes.
A total of 20 officers and officials from different units are taking part in the programme.
The training has been designed to provide detailed knowledge about emerging trends in economic offences, cyber-enabled financial frauds, collection of digital evidence, investigation of money laundering cases and legal provisions related to financial crimes.
Rajinder Kumar Gupta, SSP, was the chief guest and formally inaugurated the programme.
In his address, he said that financial crimes are becoming more sophisticated and challenging.
Gupta stressed the need for regular capacity building of investigating officers to keep pace with changing crime patterns.
He also highlighted the importance of modern investigation techniques, better coordination among agencies and effective use of technology in tackling financial frauds.
The programme will include expert lectures, case study discussions and interactive sessions by experienced faculty members and subject experts.
The course is being coordinated by Inspector Subash Chander with assistance from Sgct Shabir Ahmed, member faculty.
