Two-day seminar organized by SCERT concludes

JAMMU, Aug 6: A two-day seminar titled “From Veneration to Action: Disseminating Learning for Change” for heads of institutions, organized by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) was concluded here today.
This programme was held under the leadership of Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary and under the distinguished guidance of Prof (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor, director, SCERT Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was inaugurated by Indu Kanwal Chib, chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), who graced the event as the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge.
This was followed by a brief concept note of the programme by the Coordinator.
A formal welcome address was delivered by joint director, SCERT, who extended warm greetings to all dignitaries and participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Indu Kanwal Chib, appreciated the initiative undertaken by SCERT Jammu Division and emphasised the importance of gender equality in education.
She encouraged educators to adopt inclusive approaches and acknowledged the significant role of women educators in catalysing change within the system.
Prof Veena Gupta, department of Dogri, University of Jammu, graced the event as the guest of honour.
She shared her valuable insights on cultural inclusivity, language empowerment, and the representation of women in regional literature.
Across the two days, eminent resource persons including, Prof Veena Gupta, Dr Renu Gupta, principal, Army Public School, Domana, Rohini Aimma, principal cum vice- chairperson of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, Prof Vishav Raksha, HoD, Sociology, University of Jammu, Deepali Arora and Monica Sharma, A/O, SCERT, delivered insightful and thought-provoking sessions on diverse themes.
The seminar was assiduously coordinated by Monica Sharma and Dr Sandeep Singh served as associate coordinator, whereas Rakesh Chhibber rendered his expertise on the technical front.
The seminar culminated in a valedictory session, encapsulating the collective reflections and learnings of the participants.
Certificates were ceremoniously distributed to acknowledge and appreciate the active engagement of all attendees.
The programme concluded with an eloquent vote of thanks by Vinod Kumar Bhat.
The success of the programme was further bolstered by the dedicated contributions of Paawan Vivek, Rukhsana Gulbadan, Shamim Nazki, Rukhsana Koser, Madhu Sharma, Sushma Kumari and Meena Thakur.
