Two-day intelligence training programme begins at ZPHQ Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 9: A two-day training programme on intelligence generation began at the Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) here today with the aim of strengthening the analytical and intelligence-gathering capabilities of police personnel.
The programme has been organized for officers and officials from different districts of the Jammu Zone to enhance their skills in intelligence collection and analysis.
The training programme was inaugurated by the Staff Officer to IGP Jammu, Shamsheer Hussain, who stressed the need to strengthen intelligence at the field level to effectively deal with emerging security challenges.
During the programme, experts from various security and intelligence agencies will deliver lectures on the fundamentals of intelligence in policing, sources of information and basic intelligence tradecraft.
Officers from IB, MI, RAW, BSF (G Branch) and CID will conduct eight sessions during the two-day course covering intelligence collection methods, development and handling of information sources, and technical and digital aspects of modern policing.
The sessions will also focus on the role of intelligence in investigation, prevention of crime and operational decision-making.
Later, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, interacted with the trainees and briefed them about the objectives of the course, highlighting the importance of quality intelligence generation for the detection and prevention of crime as well as terror-related activities.
