Two criminals booked under PSA

JAMMU, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have booked two hardcore criminals from RS Pura and Arnia areas of this district under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged them in District Jail Poonch.
A police official said Paramjeet Kumar alias Jungi of Draptey, Tehsil RS Pura and Shubham Saini alias Mundi of Arnia, were booked under the PSA as part of a sustained drive to curb criminal activities in the border blet.
He said the formal detention orders were issued by the District Magistrate Jammu, following which the accused were shifted to the jail.
According to the police official, both the arrested individuals were involved in multiple FIRs registered in Jammu district and had repeatedly secured bail from the courts.
In view of their continued involvement in criminal activities, dossiers under the stringent PSA were prepared and submitted, he said.
After examining the material put on record, the District Magistrate Jammu issued PSA warrants against the duo to prevent them from further unlawful acts, the police official further said.
Pertinently, the arrests and subsequent detentions were carried out by teams of Police Stations Arnia and RS Pura, led by their respective SHOs, under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu.
