JAMMU, Nov 1: Gandhi Nagar police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ arrested two snatchers and recovered snatched gold chain worth Rs 30,000.
As per police spokesman, a lady namely Anjali Koul, wife of VK Koul of Gandhi Nagar lodged a complaint with police station Gandhi Nagar stating that two youth riding on Punjab bearing registration number motorcycle snatched her chain.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 246/16 under Section 382 RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
A special naka was established and during checking, police party intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number PB06G-3471.
During questioning, the rider identified as Satnam Singh, son of Kartar Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, presently residing in Digiana confessed to commit the crime along with his associate Shubam Choudhary, son of Balvinder Choudhary of Badyal Brahmana, at present Digiana.
Both the accused have been arrested and the snatched gold chain worth Rs 30,000 was also recovered from them.
The recovery was made by a team headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar and assisted by SI Vicky Thapa under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
