Two bovine smuggling bids foiled, 18 animals rescued

RAJOURI, June 26: Police here today foiled two bovine smuggling attempts and rescued 18 bovine animals.
As per Police sources, during a routine Naka at Kallain Mohra cops led by SHO Kandi intercepted 10 bovine animals being shifted on foot without any valid permission by one Mohd Ayoub, son of Kaj, resident of Kotechalwar Kalakote who fled the spot upon seeing cops.
In another incident, cops led by SHO Kandi, during a Naka at Badhal Puli intercepted 8 bovine animals being shifted on foot by Abdul Aziz, son of Chariya, resident of Leeran Darhal, Rajouri who fled from the spot on seeing the cops. These animals too were being illegally transported without any valid documents or permission.
In both these cases FIR No. 72/2025 and FIR No. 73/2025 respectively were registered Under Sections 223 BNS and 11 of the PCA Act at Police Station Kandi and investigation started.
