JAMMU, May 27: Two people, including a woman, were booked under the POCSO Act at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu here, officials said.
Kajal and Rohit, both residents of Gorkha Nagar, Jammu, were booked and arrested for their alleged involvement in felicitation and sexual harassment of a 13-year-old girl some two months back, a police official said. He, however, said that a case was registered on May 25.
According to the police official, Kajal, who is neighbour of the victim, called the latter to her residence, where Rohit sexually assaulted her.
After the teenage girl narrated the entire ordeal to her parents, they approached police for registration of FIR, he said.
“On the complaint of the parents of the victim, we have registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested two individuals, including a woman and started further investigation into the matter,” the police official said.
