Two attempt-to-murder accused arrested within 24 hours in RS Pura

JAMMU, Dec 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have arrested two individuals allegedly involved in an attempt-to-murder case within 24 hours of the incident.
A police official said a complaint was lodged on December 14 by one Neelam Kumari wife of Balbir Kumar of Talhar, Tehsil Arnia, district Jammu, alleging therein that her brother, Manoj Kumar alias Moja, was brutally attacked near Montessori School, Kotli Gala Bana, RS Pura.
He said the complainant stated that the accused, identified as Ashu Choudhary and Karan Kumar alias Anil Kumar alias Nandi, intercepted Manoj Kumar and attacked him with sharp-edged weapons (tokas) with the intention to kill.
Taking immediate action, he said, Police Station RS Pura registered a case and formed special teams under the supervision of the SHO concerned.
Using technical and ground intelligence, police tracked the accused and arrested both of them from the RS Pura area within 24 hours, he said.
The police official added that both accused are habitual offenders and are involved in several previous cases, including attempt to murder and violations under the Arms Act.
Meanwhile, he claimed that further investigation is underway to ascertain their wider criminal links.
