JAMMU, Dec 30: Police Station Nagrota has arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered illicit drugs from their possession during routine patrolling and checking duty.
A police party led by PSI Nikhal Sharma was conducting naka checking at Ram Nagar Morh on NHW TCP Bye-pass near the Crusher Plant, Nagrota. During the operation, an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number JK02DH-2877, coming from the Jammu side, was signalled to stop.
On enquiry, the driver was identified as Jog Raj, son of Gulzar Singh, resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, while his associate was identified as Ashish Jeet Singh, son of Baljeet Singh, also a resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar. Both were found behaving suspiciously.
During their personal search, police recovered heroin-like substance weighing approximately 5–6 grams from the possession of each accused. In this regard, a case FIR Number 261/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, and further investigation is in progress.
