Two absconders arrested

JAMMU, Nov 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two absconders-one evading arrest for the past seven years and another for the last six months-in two separate cases registered at Police Stations RS Pura and Bishnah.
A police official said that in the first case, Police Station RS Pura apprehended one Mukesh Kumar alias Rocky of Ward Number 4, RS Pura, who had been on the run since 2018.
He said Kumar was wanted in case FIR number 67/2018 under Sections 307, 341, 323, and 147 of the RPC.
According to him, the Court of Principal Sessions Judge, Jammu had issued a warrant under Section 299 CrPC against Kumar in view of his prolonged evasion.
The warrant was executed today with the arrest of Kumar from Punjab by a team of Police Station RS Pura, led by SHO concern, Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, he said.
The police official added that the absconder was later produced before the court of Principal and District Sessions Judge, Jammu.
In the second case, he said, a team of Police Station Bishnah, led by SHO concern, Inspector Rakesh Jamwal, arrested a fugitive, Ranvijay Singh of Harsa Dabbad, Bishnah, who had been evading arrest for over six months.
He was wanted in case FIR number 168/2008 under sections 323, 341, 372, 34 RPC, and 4/25 Arms Act, the police official said.
The SHO Bishnah-led team acted on a non-bailable warrant issued against the absconder under section 512 CrPC by the Court of Munsiff JMIC Bishnah, Jammu, he said.
Post arrest, the police official added that the absconder was produced before the court for further legal action.
