JAMMU, Feb 19: Keeping a tight vigil over crime against women, Janipur police nailed a tutor of a private tutorial for molesting his minor student in the IQE Institute premises at Main Stop, Janipur, here today.
As per police sources, a 17-year-old girl (class 11th student) lodged a complaint with police station Janipur that her teacher identified as Sunil Kapoor, son of Om Parkash Kapoor, a resident of Main Stop, Janipur touched her inappropriately after finding her alone in IQE Institute at Main Stop, Janipur.
The minor student in her complaint further stated that she restricted the tutor, but when the latter did not paid heed to her warning, she escaped from the tutorial and reached home.
After reaching home, she narrated the ordeal to her parents, who lodged a complaint against the tutor with Janipur police station.
The girl in her statement to police also alleged that some objectionable things also happen in this institute and other staff members are involved in it, but the girl students of the institute remained mum and did not reported the matter to police earlier due to fear.
Acting swiftly, police team from Janipur police station rushed to the tutorial. On seeing the police team, the accused tried to escape, but was chased and nabbed by the active cops of Janipur police station.
Police also called the owner of the tutorial and another staff member for questioning in the objectionable issues, which were going on in the institute as disclosed by the complainant in her statement.
A case under FIR number 44/15 under Section 354 RPC has been registered at police station Janipur and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Janipur police station Inspector Manzoor Ahmed Kohli and SI Arun Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Shri Ram Ambarkar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
