NEW DELHI, July 30: Turmeric and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position.
Turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 8,900-12,400 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 19,500-19,700 and Rs 21,200-21,700 per quintal.
Marketmen said easing demand from retailers and stockists against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down turmeric and jeera prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 175-240, black pepper (per kg) 720-850, betel-nut (kg) 240-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,290-1,300 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,340-1,550.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 645-820, cardamom (colour robin) 615-625, cardamom bold 645-665, cardamom extra (bold) 755-765 and cloves 560-660. (PTI)
