MENDHAR, Dec 12: Eleven cattle of a Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO), hailing from Mendhar area were charred to death in a devastating fire incident here last mid night.
Official sources said that there was a party at the house of TSO Abdul Khaliq in connection with the Eid festival during last evening. Many guests enjoyed party and left for their homes late in the evening.
Suddenly, his cattle shed, just adjoining his house caught fire at around 11.45 pm. The family woke up on hearing sounds of animals. They saw that entire thatched (Kucha shed) was on fire. The neighbours also woke up and rushed there.
They started rescue operation and doused the fire with tough efforts but all the eleven cattle inside could not be saved and were charred to death. However, the fire was contained and not allowed to engulf the house of Abdul Khaliq.
The police said that sabotage cannot be ruled out. It said that a case has been registered for investigation.
