SAMBA, Mar 20: A trucker was killed while his associate sustained injuries in accident near Jamoda area here today.
The ill-fated truck bearing registration number RJ10GB-2024 was on its way to Samba from Udhampur, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down near Jamoda area, resulting into injuries to driver and his associate.
On getting information, a team from Police Station Samba led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia along with UTDRF personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
Both the injured persons were shifted to District Hospital Samba, where doctors declared one of them as brought dead, while the other injured was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The deceased was identified as Rahul Singh Shikhawat (24), son Mahindra Singh, a resident of Chachwad, Rajasthan while the injured is identified as Ditar Singh (32), son of Pappu, a resident of Rajasthan.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started to ascertain the cause of the accident.
