POONCH, July 25: Surankote Police arrested a trucker and recovered contraband substances and other items from his possession.
As per official sources, a team from Police Station Surankote laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK12-8472.
During checking, police team recovered 10 grams heroin, 100 grams poppy straw, three mobile phones, micro weighing scale and cash Rs 17000 from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Amjid Ali, son of Mohd Nahiem, a resident of Dhundak Surankote District Poonch.
A case FIR Number 220/2022 under section 8/15/21/22/27(A) NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Surankote and investigation started.
