Truck involved in illegal timber smuggling seized

JAMMU, Aug 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police today seized a truck involved in the illegal transportation of the timber in Domana area.
During checking, a naka party of Police Station Domana intercepted a timber loaded truck (JK02BK-6835) being driven by one Mustafa of Sangallard Akhnoor.
Upon inspection, he said, the team got to know that the illegally felled timber was meant to be sold unauthorizedly.
Accordingly, he said, the vehicle and its contents were seized on the spot and a formal report was lodged at Police Station Domana.
After completion of all legal formalities, the police official said, the seized tractors and timber will be handed over to the Forest Department for further action under the relevant provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Act.
