SAMBA, Aug 2: A major accident took place at the busy SIDCO Chowk in Samba in which a speedy truck hit four vehicles on the road. According to police, on Saturday morning around 10 am near SIDCO Chowk on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, a loaded truck on way from Kathua to Jammu on the flyover suddenly went out of control and hit four vehicles, in which two people were also injured.
The injured were taken to District Hospital Samba for treatment. The truck first hit a sleeper bus, then a Swift car, a Mahindra car and then a JCB, after which it stopped. As the accident took place there was atmosphere of chaos and screaming everywhere.
A crowd of people gathered on the spot. The police reached the spot, moved and took the injured to District Hospital Samba. Police removed the damaged vehicles with the help of a crane from the highway and made the traffic smooth.
After the accident, there was a long jam on the National Highway which was cleared by police and traffic police later. The injured have been identified as Satish Kumar, 38, son of Fakir Chand resident of Doda and Deepak Kumar, 43, son of Sardari Lal resident of Chann Matlooni Ghagwal district Samba.
In this regard, the police have registered a case and started further action.
