KISHTWAR, Oct 21: Two persons were injured tonight when a truck falls into a gorge after colliding with a car at Drabshalla in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kishtwar.
Police sources said that a speeding Swift car and a truck collided with each other at Drabshalla at around 9 PM, following which the truck rolled down into a 500-feet deep gorge along the road.
After getting reports of the accident, locals and police reached the spot and started rescue operation for the truck driver and its conductor while the driver of the Swift car escaped with minor injuries.
Sources said that with the combined efforts of the police personnel and locals, the truck driver was rescued while the rescue operation for the conductor of the truck was still underway when the last reports came in, as the truck had completely damaged after falling from such a height.
The two injured persons were shifted to a nearby Government Hospital for medical treatment, sources added.
