POONCH, June 24: The police seized a truck on Mughal Road near Behramgalla along with 15 kg poppy straw and arrested three persons late last evening.
A police spokesman said that Behramgalla police party under Surankote police jurisdiction, intercepted truck No. HP12C/0226 and recovered 15 kg poppy straw ( Bukki) during search of the vehicle. The police seized the truck and arrested three persons including driver in this connection.
Those arrested were identified as driver Rashid Mohd, Ashok Kumar, son of Sham Lal and Jagtar Singh, son of Balbir Singh, all hailing from Nirwana in Himachal Pradesh. They were on way to Himachal from Kashmir. Surankote police registered a case FIR No. 102/ 2017 in this connection.
Meanwhile, the police recovered 110 gm charas and arrested one Sheraz Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Shopian ( Kashmir) during nakka at Bafliaz in Surankote today. A case was registered against him.
