RAMBAN, Jan 7: A triple-storey residential house was gutted here today in Mutlihal, Pandit Pura area of Tehsil Pogal Paristan, Ukhral leaving three families homeless.
However, there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the incident.
Officials said that fire broke out in the residential house of Ashok Sharma, Vipan Sharma and Anjeet Singh in village Mutlihal, Pandit Pura and on seeing flames coming out from the house, neighbours along with cops started attempts to douse the fire.
After sometime a fire tender from Fire and Emergency Services Station Banihal reached the spot and brought the blaze under control thereby preventing the fire from spreading to nearby houses.
Local have demanded establishment of a Fire and Emergency Services Station in the area to ensure timely response in case of future incidents.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director Fire and Emergency Services Ramban, Sahil Bandral, visited the area to assess losses.
Locals have urged the administration to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected families.
