Tripartite MoU signed to boost medicinal plant cultivation in HP

SHIMLA (HP), Feb 2: Baidyanath Ayurved, Jhansi, has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army and the Government of Himachal Pradesh to promote large-scale cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants in border and remote villages of the State.
The MoU, signed in Shimla in the presence of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, aimed at reviving traditional Ayurvedic practices, promoting sustainable farming, and generating stable livelihoods for rural communities.
Under the agreement, the AYUSH Department will provide technical support and training to farmers, while the Indian Army will assist in on-ground implementation in difficult and remote areas.
Baidyanath will ensure assured procurement of produce, supply quality seeds and saplings, and help strengthen the Ayurvedic value chain.
The MoU was signed by Col T S K Singh on behalf of the Indian Army, Rohit Jamwal, Director AYUSH, Himachal Pradesh, and Shailesh Sharma representing Baidyanath Ayurved.
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, AYUSH Minister Yadvinder Goma, and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
