JAMMU, Apr 21: All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) today paid tributes to Atamjeet Singh on his 6th death anniversary.
On the occasion, Kamal Mohindru, Commissioner, EPF was the chief guest, whereas Dr Vipan Rampaul was guest of honour.
Pervinder Kumar, deputy general secretary, AITUC presented the welcome address and threw light on the life of Atamjeet Singh.
He said that Atamjeet Singh’s sacrifice for our class cannot be ignored in faded memories, who consistently worked for us and for well being of our families, even ignoring the well being and focused approach for his own family comprised of two sons and his wife, who too have left for heavenly abode, thereby leaving behind two daughters-in-laws, two grandsons and two grand daughters.
He added that Atamjeet Singh was a noted and devoted journalist, who devoted himself for the well being of labour/trade union activities. He was a freedom fighter in the pre-independence. During British rule, Atamjeet Singh as a young revolutionary activist was imprisoned and confined for ‘Kala Pani’ at Goa as a prisoner for freedom fight.
“Wife of Atamjeet Singh always inspired him to fight for truth and fight for the cause of all genuine”, he said, adding that Singh always remained as a charged and charming personality with prompt and pleasing approach for the cause of labour class.
On the occasion, NK Dogra, president, AITUC, Balkar Singh, senior vice president, SK Sharma, general secretary besides many others expressed their views.
