VIJAYPUR, Aug 30: Rich tributes were paid to the people from Vijaypur area to the martyr Amin Chand at his native village in Vijaypur area of district Samba today.
On the occasion of 51st  Martyr Day, his family members, relatives and the people from the area assembled at his memorial in the native village Pakhri  and organised a function to pay floral tributes to the martyr who laid down his life while fighting with the enemy during  1965 Indo-Pak war.
During Indo – Pak war of 1965,   Amin Chand  sacrificed his life for the protection  and integrity of  the Nation on Kashmir border. He  was serving in 8 JAK LI.
Col Rahul Mishra from 18 Maratha LI was the chief guest of the occasion. The war widow, Puro Devi and nephew Banarsi Dass of  martyr were also present on the occasion. Col Rahul performed the wreath laying ceremony and garlanded the statue of Martyr Amin Chand.  Other prominent persons and relatives  also garlanded the statue of the Martyr and paid tributes to him.
A team of 18 Maratha LI which was accompanied by  Col. Rahul Mishra also garlanded the statue of martyr. Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj  performed Satsang and prayed for the peace of the soul.
While addressing the public Col. Rahul  highlighted the service rendered by Martyr Amin Chand. He told that we should feel proud that Martyr Amin Chand was one of them who had sacrifice his life for the nation. We should always remember the sacrifices of the martyrs.
