JAMMU, Apr 14: A large number of people from various walks of life today paid their tribute to Prof Roshan Lal Kataria, during a Shradhanjali Samaroh, organized here.
Prof Kataria passed at the age of 76 on 26th March, 2025 in Chandigarh. He was the founder of Aryans Group, Chandigarh.
On the occasion a large number of people including politician, social workers, representatives of Universities & Colleges Associations; NGOs conveyed their condolences to his son, Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group.
Eminent persons including Harnirpal Singh Kukku, former MLA, Dr Naresh Pruthi, Congress leader Harcharan Sotha; Shammi Teria, president, Municipal Committee, Rajinder Bhandari, Setia Paper Mill, Sandeep Girdhar Gurdas Girdhar, Satish Bhateja, Raj Kumar Melu, Ashwani Girdhar, Raman Girdhar Shiv Tirpal Ke, Panjab University Hostel Association were present.
Members of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) & Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA), Joint Association of Colleges (JAC); Nursing Association, Lala Lajpat Rai Group of Institutions, Moga; SVIET, Chandigarh; Sukhjindra Group, Gurdaspur; Bharat Group, Mansa; BIS College, Moga; Desh Bhagat, Moga, ISF College, Moga, Alpine College, Baghapurana, Malwa Nursing College, Kotkapura, Baba Farid Bathinda, KCT College, Lehragaga, Shivalik School, Jaito, Muktsar Palace and Resort Association etc were present.
Prof Roshan Lal Kataria completed his Master’s in Economics from Dehradun in 1973.
He served in various educational institutions, including Government College Sri Muktsar Sahib, Government College Jira, and DAV School Sri Muktsar Sahib.
Kataria also ventured into entrepreneurship and started restaurants including Moon Light in Sri Muktsar Sahib (1983-1988), Red Rose in Fazilka, and Saki in Jalalabad (1988-1991).
His son Dr Anshu Kataria is the Chairman of the Aryans Group, president of the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) and president of the Federation of Self-Financing Technical Institutions Association, All India (FSFTI).
Also, Chaman Lal Kataria, former vice president Municipal Committee, BJP Leader Ravinder Kataria, State Awardee Chanchal Kataria, Rajesh Kataria, Billu Kataria, Varun Kataria, Monty Kataria, Chand Kataria, Vikas Girdhar, Varun Girdhar, Vikrant Girdhar, Sanjeev Girdhar were also present on this occasion.
